DECLARATION OF FAITH (2 of 3)
5. Salvation through Grace
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
6. Repentance and Acceptance
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9) “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-” (John 1:12)
7. New Birth
“In reply Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” (John 3:3)
8. Water Baptism and Lord’s Supper
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:4)
“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus… took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant of my blood; do this, whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” (1Corinthians 11:23-26)
