And They Shall Be One Flesh

What an emotion!  With smile in their faces, the couples walked through the aisle heading towards the altar  in their best attire. There were again the exchanging of I do and the sweet whisper of I love you . While holding each other’s hands and in tearful eyes, they felt the  strong heartbeat deep within. How wonderful it is to witness such an occasion.  So thrilling!

The JIL Milan Couples’ Ministry celebrated the Couples’ Week last February 12 and 14 with its theme, “And They Shall be One Flesh.”  This year’s preparation was simpler than before but its impact was so great.  Various topics were brought about for  the moment of refreshing. Bro. Arthur Alcantara, shared, “Is Their a Priest in Your House”,  Sis. Matty Aguilar on “The Purity, Permanence and  Pressure in Marriage” and Rev. Ptr. Benny Alcantara tackled on the celebration’s theme on the Sunday Service.  These teachings reminded the couples the dos and the don’ts to be observed in making their family tie more solid than before.

We knew beforehand that God has designed a harmonious relationship for every couple (Jeremiah 29:11).  He planned it in His way. However, the enemy tends to pollute and  to destroy it by all means.  He starts to ruin families by insisting blame and guilt,  followed by series of miscommunications and  the worst, threat.  If the couples are not deeply rooted in the Word of God, then they will end in broken relationship.  In this regard,  couples  should be refreshed of God’s design to every family to keep it closely knit.

Though all of them were restless and tired, the couples’ celebration has to be continued in the afternoon.  They have Couples’ Night intended to acquaint couples from one another. There were games, other surprises, dancing and eating fellowship too. Exhausted though they were at the closing of the program, but they were contented and satisfied.  This is because, they were again upgraded with new things implicit in creating a harmonious family relationship.--
