A Women’s Day to Remember

The woman of beauty!  Who is she?  What makes her beautiful?  Is it the way how she walks, talks, wears a dress, smiles, or how she puts her make up?   This was the topic brought about by Reverend Pastor Benny Alcantara last March 9 on the  JIL Milan Women’s Day Celebration.

He said, “While this world has its standard of beauty, God has also His.  1Peter 3:2-4 explains that beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair, wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.  Instead, it should be of the inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God’s sight.

No woman will be more beautiful than the one clothed in the righteousness of the Lord Jesus.  She is marked by tender kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness, joy and thankfulness. She puts her hope in the Lord (1Peter 3:5).  At any special price she cannot be bought because she is a person of dignity.  She is serene in all ways because she  has trust and confidence in God.

Indeed, the most beautiful women in the world are not those who parade in swimsuits and evening gowns before judges and television cameras.  Rather, the real finalists and winners are those who have their inner glow of grace and compassion.”

This teaching once again reminded the women that true relationship with the Lord and the development of His character in their lives are essential foundation that will strengthen and sustain them in all of their activities and accomplishments.

Several added attractions were presented as of “Balagtasan” that focused on the equal rights of men and women as of these days. The chosen women from the congregation presented a special song number and they sang “Mamahaling Hiyas” which portrays the value of a woman.
